7 Piece Opaque Polyhedral Sets

Now GAMESCIENCE® HIGH IMPACT™ PRECISION EDGED™ Polyhedral Dice are available in a 7-PIECE SET featuring the DECKAIDER™ D10 along with D4, D6, D8, D10, D12 and a True D20, packaged in clear plastic retail packaging.

Since 1974, Gamescience® has been making dice from the highest quality plastics. Avoiding the tumbling process gives Gamescience® dice a razor edge and ensures uniformity. Each face has equal opportunity to land every time. A mold-point may be noticed on one face of the die and may require some touch up with model-grade sandpaper, we do try to catch and remove any substantial issues prior to shipping but do occasionally miss one.

Gamescience® dice are backed by a 2 year guarantee against premature wear, no other dice manufacturer offers that.

To assure that every edge and vertex holds its mathematically precise dimensions, all Gamescience® dice are clipped by hand from the casting sprue, which leaves a minor blemish. These sharp pristine edges dissipate uniform amounts of energy as each contacts the table. Filing down the blemish improves randomization. Imported dice have no blemish cause they are tumbled in a rock polisher, which eliminates the blemish while rounding off all of the edges, and changes each face and edge into a unique shape which leaves every dice egg shaped and unable to randomize evenly.

Not a random one among them
Bought two sets of these dice because I had heard that Gamescience Dice were higher quality and truly random. Performed a test in which by adding salt to water you increase its surface tension allowing the dice to float and then "roll" the dice. If they are truly balanced/random dice, when you roll them any number might appear. However in unbalanced dice a single number will appear or a certain side will find its way to the top each time. As I said before. I bought two sets and of the twelve testable di (can't test the d4's) and not one of them was truly random. I am deeply disappointed, after hearing what a great product these were. Don't let the look, feel and name fool you. There is nothing special about these dice as far as being truly random is concerned. Gamescience Response: "Although the salt water test can provide useful data, test rolling is the most precise test for determining the randomness of the outcomes, simply having a balanced die will not insure randomness as there is zero friction and surface affect randomness as well. Gamescience dice are still the most balanced die available and there is not an effective way to check opaque dice for bubbles, we can't afford the time and effort it would take to do an ultrasound on every opaque die we produce."

Great Dice, Great Color
I purchased the purple dice since the black ones were out of stock, and I don't regret it. The inking (gold) was very well done, definitely worth the extra few dollars. The dice themselves are great, they make a satisfying clunk hitting the table and don't roll very much, which is exactly what I wanted. The description above recommends filing down the blemishes, but I had more luck whittling them off with a pocketknife.

not bad
For dice touted as being more mathematically precise than the chinese made dice (re: Chessex), I would have expected these to have a little better prep before shipping. The fact that one has to physically file or sand off the casting nib from each die is a little frustrating. Then you end up with a face or two that have sanding or filing marks, so you feel the need to sand all faces. Of course the edges are proud of the center of each face, so you end up just polishing the edges of each face. But even by going up to 2000 grit wet/dry sandpaper, the edges just get dulled and never match the shiny interior portion of each face. There actually is something to be said for the rock polisher method of prepping dice before delivery, I think.

Good set!
They feel lighter in the palm than some other brands, but I haven't found them to roll away any further or more uncontrollably than other dice. The color is a nice shiny black as opposed to the duller blacks of many other dice. Being a bit old school, I use crayon to color the numbers (silver) instead of ink and it works great! Sprues on the dice were cut nice and close, didn't have to do any filing or sanding. Only thing that detracts from the 5-star rating is that there are small surface imperfections from the casting.
